Urban Runaway believes that heart-centered leadership is needed now more than ever to unite communities, spark conversations and co-develop solutions to modern-day challenges.
Heart leaders can play a transformative role in organizations, community groups and local development as they often bring a unique perspective to a team, driving desired outcomes by focusing on community service and innovation.
Heart-centered leaders celebrate wins differently, focusing on the lessons gained during the overall experience rather than on one particular outcome. If you’ve got a heart-led leader in your organization, hold on tight! They are the unicorns of your management team with capabilities beyond your dreams!
At Urban Runaway, we’re surrounded by community-minded individuals who show up each day to make a local impact
Using your authentic voice will help people connect with you on a deeper level and raise awareness for the cause you are fighting for.
If you’ve got something to say but don’t know how to articulate your message, ask yourself these 3 questions to help get you started:
Heart-centered leadership is based on compassion, responsibility, and decisive action. Never underestimate the power of heart-led leaders because at their core, they view leadership as an extension of self and a true act of love. Leading from the heart doesn’t mean soft leadership. It simply means compassionate leadership that puts trust-building practices as a top priority.
They occur in our work, relationships, and communication with one another. It’s simply a part of life! The way a person deals with a mistake can reveal a lot about their character, potentially strengthen or damage relationships and either draw in or drive away clients.
Take a moment to relax, draw a deep breath and acknowledge that everyone makes mistakes. Addressing mistakes effectively requires time, consideration and concentration to formulate an effective action plan. Sure, you could pretend that nothing happened. You could blame someone else for your error, heck you could just not care! None of these options place you in a positive light and will hinder your ability to form lasting relationships.
Here are 4 simple steps you can take to own your errors and rebuild trust:
1. Don’t panic! Take a step back and breathe. This is not the end of the world.
2. Nobody is perfect! Recognizing that we all make mistakes makes it much easier to recover. Give yourself grace and take the time needed to reflect on your error.
3. Address the mistake! Reflect on how your actions may have caused harm to others. From there, you will be able to create a plan of action that acknowledges these harms and corrects the mistake in a timely manner.
4. Be sincere and extend a heartfelt apology. Take a direct approach and own up to your mistakes. Now is not the time to downplay your error or shift the blame to others. A sincere apology can go a long way because it shows others that you can take responsibility for your actions.
