Karleigh Hastings and Josh Ziemba are not only life partners but also business partners. Together since 2008, they shared an entrepreneurial vision that led them to relocate from Kanata to the Ottawa Valley. There, they opened a new cafe in the charming town of Arnprior, Ontario. They named their labor of love after a family member who inspired them: Cafe Tilda, in honour of Josh’s grandmother, Mathilde (Tilda), who emigrated from Germany to Canada and ran a popular delicatessen in downtown Toronto. Cafe Tilda is cozily situated within Koti 28, a well-loved home goods and luxury lifestyle store owned by Angie MacCrae. Located at 158 John Street North, at the fashionable corner of John Street and Madawaska Boulevard, Koti 28 offers a selection of home goods and lifestyle products with a focus on natural textiles, wood, minimalistic and harmonic pieces.
Karleigh and Josh deliver exceptional service, fostering a warm and welcoming environment where customers are treated like family. The cafe’s ambiance evokes the comfort of a beloved snug corner, establishing it as an ideal place for some peaceful respite and a recommended lunch destination on your upcoming shopping trip. Boasting soothing vibes, skillfully adorned interiors, and a splendid outdoor terrace, this delightful cafe shines with its unique attributes and an array of exquisite drinks and culinary delights guaranteed to satisfy even the most refined tastes.
Cafe Tilda recently welcomed Urban Runaway for a group menu tasting, where we indulged in a delightful outdoor feast on their private patio. We give our local dining experience a perfect score of 10/10. Below are the top three menu items we suggest you sample!
